How It Works

No cost, no obligation, and nothing gets recommended in the first meeting. Here’s the whole process, start to finish, so there are no surprises in it.

1

We talk before we recommend

The first conversation is about your situation. What you’ve saved and where it sits. When you want to stop working, or whether you already have. What you’re worried about. Who depends on you. Usually 45 minutes to an hour, in one of our offices, at your kitchen table, or over video if that’s easier.

2

We put your current picture on paper

Account balances, pensions, Social Security timing, and any policies you already own, all on one page. You’d be surprised how often this step alone changes what people think they need — sometimes because there’s a gap nobody had noticed, and sometimes because they already have more in place than they realized.

3

We compare options side by side

If an insurance product fits what you’re trying to do, we pull carrier illustrations and lay them out together. Guaranteed values next to non-guaranteed ones, with the assumptions behind the non-guaranteed column explained out loud. You’ll also hear the trade-offs — surrender charges, caps, what you give up in access to your money — before you decide anything, not after.

4

You decide, on your timeline

The paperwork goes home with you. Talk it over with your spouse, your accountant, your kids. Ask us questions a week later. If the answer is no, or not yet, that’s a complete answer and we’ll still be here when something changes.

5

We review it every year

Policies get reviewed annually alongside the rest of your coverage, because circumstances change and so do contracts. Beneficiaries go out of date. Carriers adjust rates. A policy bought fifteen years ago may not be doing what it was bought for.

What to bring

Nothing, for a first conversation. If you want the first meeting to be more productive, these help:

Recent statements for retirement accounts · Your Social Security statement, or an estimate from ssa.gov · Pension paperwork, if you have one · Any life insurance, annuity, or long-term care policies you already own · A rough sense of what you spend in a month

If you can’t put your hands on all of it, come anyway. We’ll work with what you have.

Questions people ask before the first meeting

What does it cost? Nothing. We’re paid by the insurance carriers when someone purchases a policy, not by the hour. There’s no fee for a conversation, a policy review, or a comparison.

Will I be pressured? No. Nothing gets recommended in a first meeting, and nothing needs deciding the day it’s presented.

Do I have to move my home and auto? No, and it’s never a condition.

What if I already work with someone? A second look costs you nothing, and if what you have is well built, we’ll tell you so.
